FootSteps — GPS Trail Tracker

Acceptance

By creating an account or using FootSteps, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What FootSteps Does

FootSteps is a GPS trail recording app that lets you record walking trails, replay them with ghost navigation, share trails with friends inside the app or via files, receive push notifications when friends interact with you, and back up your data to Google Drive.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings.

Your Data

You own your trail data. FootSteps stores trails locally on your device. If you choose to back up to Google Drive, that data is stored in your own Google account. We do not claim ownership of your data.

User-Generated Content & Sharing

When you send a trail to another FootSteps user, you grant them a personal, non-commercial license to view and replay that trail within FootSteps. You retain all rights to your trails.

You agree not to:

• Use trail sharing to harass, threaten, or impersonate others
• Share trails containing illegal or harmful content
• Scrape or redistribute other users' shared trails outside of FootSteps

If a recipient reports abusive content, we may remove the trail and suspend the sending account.

Notifications

Push and local notifications are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee delivery, timing, or order. Notifications may be delayed or undelivered due to your network, device settings, Apple's APNs availability, or Google's FCM availability. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → FootSteps → Notifications.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use FootSteps for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the app
• Share content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights
• Use the app in ways that could harm or overload our services
• Create accounts using automated scripts or for fraudulent purposes

Location Data

FootSteps requires location access to function. GPS accuracy varies by device and environment. We do not guarantee the accuracy of recorded trails. Do not rely on FootSteps as your sole navigation tool in dangerous or remote areas.

Disclaimer

FootSteps is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for any loss of data, injury, or damage arising from the use of the app. Always exercise caution when walking unfamiliar routes.

Premium Subscription

FootSteps offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called FootSteps Premium. Subscription options, pricing, and length are displayed in the app before purchase.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• The subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

Account Termination

You may delete your account from Settings at any time. When you delete your account, the following data is removed from our servers:

• Your account and profile
• All family connections
• Your push notification token
• Any unimported shared trail files in transit to you

Trails that other users have already imported from you remain in their personal copies and are outside our control. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of FootSteps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
